Hi everyone!

So, I wanted to put up an OOC coordination post for this, since it's going to be a bit more planning-heavy than a normal overboarding. The other Yugi is going overboard, and he'll wake up working for the circus, running their games.

Anyone who comes into the carnival games tent will run into Yugi, dressed in a horrible Victorian re-imagining of ancient Egyptian clothing, playing up the "I'm possessed by the spirit of an Egyptian master gambler!" thing. He will have two things that are unique to anyone who comes in.

First, he'll have a prize that's small, nonmagical, and not very valuable, but is sentimental to your character in some way; maybe it reminds them of a loved one, or maybe it's just very pretty, or maybe it's just a stuffed creature of indeterminate species that your character just has to have.

Second, he'll have a game that'll test your character's character somehow. Selfish characters will be given teamwork games (with Yugi as your teammate, if no one else came with you); greedy characters will have games where the object is to control your greed. Loyal characters will have games that seem to reward them for betraying other players; however, to win the prize, they must resist this temptation.

If the character plays through the whole game without breaking the rules, win or lose, they'll get to walk out with the prize. But here's the catch: the longer the character is in the tent, the more difficulty they'll have not giving in to their true natures. Think of it like this: what would they do if no one was watching, if they were sure they could get away with it? Would they be likely to lose their tempers? Cheat? Steal? The character will find themselves more and more tempted to act in such a way. An anxious character might find themselves overcome with fear; a brave and honest person might notice nothing. A particularly strong-willed character can overcome the adverse effects, but it takes a lot of mental discipline.

Cheat, attack Yugi, or otherwise break the rules, and you'll find whatever game item you're holding hurts to hold. It'll be minor, about as painful as a sunburn but won't leave a mark, and it'll fade once you leave the tent. I'm also definitely up for discussing different penalties for rule-breaking! The prize, however, vanishes without a trace as soon as rules are broken.

Anyway, this post is for workshopping what game you want to play and what prize will get your character to play it, as well as determining if your character manages to complete the game or even win! I'm also available via PM or on plurk if you wanna plot there! I'm happy to help brainstorm once I know what trait of your character's you'd like to test!

....also there'll be a prompt up for completely ordinary Victorian skee-ball, if magical tests of character ain't your thing, and I'll link to the IC post once it goes up.
